Managing Director ,
After leaving University with a degree in Mathematics, Geoff joined his father’s Hardware & DIY business in 1981 and started to specialise in selling tiles from their store down Portobello Street.
This was at the very beginning of the DIY market and the choice for customers was very limited. Geoff’s aim was to bring the world’s best tiles to the people of Hull and this ambition led to him sourcing the latest designs from far and wide.
By the late 1980’s, it was clear that their premises on Portobello Street were too small and in 1989, Geoff split from his father’s company and started Brooke Ceramics Ltd. In 1993, they opened the UK’s first tile superstore in Hull and expanded the showroom in 2005 to create the largest tile superstore in Britain, selling bathrooms as well as their core tile ranges.
Brooke Ceramics Ltd currently supply tiles from all over the world to retail, trade and contract customers, as well as to a national market via their burgeoning internet business.
Geoff is also a trustee of The Shen Foundation, a charity based in Scotland dedicated to improving health and wellbeing through the use of preventative techniques based on Chinese Daoist principles. Over the years, he has also qualified as a Master in a self-development program, The Avatar Course.
