After 10 years as a chef, slave to the stove! I decided it was time to take the leap into self employment. Starting my company Shoot The bull, originally as a street food pop up, in 2015. I gained experience in some of the best restaurants in the country as throughout my career I strived to achieve the best.
I currently have a street food business and a pub, The Old House, in Hull’s Old Town. Both are performing really well.
The beginning certainly came with its challenges and Ive learnt my fair share of business the hard way.
I left school after AS Levels as I was set on becoming a chef, even at the age of 17 my goal was my own business. I now have more than one business and still eager for more. We set company goals and the team play a big part in that too.
Business was steady to begin with but by applying business growth techniques, sticking my neck on the line and having a great team to help deliver our award winning food we have got to where we are now.
I now employ 15 members of staff and soon will take closer to the 30 mark as we open two new ventures. I have a fantastic and loyal team and keeping them on board with the same passion and care I have is key to our success.
