Ken is Managing Director of office technology business IT@Spectrum. He began his career in the office equipment industry in the eighties as a service technician, progressing through service management into sales and general management.
Having being appointed as a Director of IT@Spectrum in 2000, he led a management buyout in 2003, and now heads up a team of 54 staff operating throughout Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. Having led an MBO, Ken has first hand experience of succession planning, working with the founders of the business to structure their exit through an innovative, carefully planned and precisely executed strategy. Ken has applied a logical, process driven approach to structuring and growing a customer focussed, sales led business, achieving ISO 9001 and Investor in People accreditation along the way.
In 2014 Ken entered a joint venture with fellow FEO member Martin Lauer of The One Point, and the two businesses have recently come together in brand new purpose built premises at Bridgehead Business Park Hessle, creating a platform for continued colaboration and growth.
He believes that if people and teams know clearly what they are required to do, believe that it’s right, are able to do it and ultimately want to do it, then spectacular results can be achieved.
