Jason has worked in Procurement and Supply Chain for around 20 years in a number of sectors and industries, including FMCG, Steel Manufacture, Social Housing, Education, Automotive, Fraud Investigation and others.
After setting up the independent consultancy ProcureMe Limited and providing tender and bid services for organisations across the UK, he now runs “The Marketplace” with his co-director Gareth Alexander.
Being Hull born and bred but now “living on the other side” means that I have a passion for Hull and the larger Humber area. “I grew up on North Hull Estate, Orchard Park and North Bransholme then started off adult life as a homeless person and was lucky enough to get a place at a Doorstep of Hull hostel off Spring Bank. This helped me turn my life around, and for that I will be forever grateful.
I had many jobs in the early years working for companies like Colt Industrial, Ringtons Tea, Halfords, and then Kimberly-Clark which is where I moved into procurement. My time in the procurement team at Kimberly-Clark saw me buying low value items like nuts & bolts, machined & fabricated items, services and culminated in the factory expansion valued at $47m.
Being selected to Chair the Humber Branch of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply, was a proud moment, and I continued this role promoting the profession until September 2016.
The Marketplace is unique in the services which it offers, providing its main bespoke tender/grant funding searches as well as specialist bid writing services which are backed up by a full range of Procurement and Supply Chain support.
I’m never satisfied with what I have, and it is this trait that has driven me to become the person I am today. I get a real satisfaction from helping others and I look forward to contributing to the FEO family.
